Grok says: As an expert how does DEI harm children in k-12?

Today's article comes to us fro, Grok the AI. We asked it to use "expert mode" and research the negative impact DEI has on K-12 children. For your analysis and consideration. DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives in K-12 education are designed to foster environments where all students feel valued and have equal opportunities, but they have faced significant criticism for potential unintended harms. As a truth-seeking expert, I'll note upfront that this is a highly debated topic: while some studies and opinion pieces highlight negative impacts, others (including from educators and advocacy groups) argue that DEI enhances student well-being, reduces disparities, and that … [Read more...]

School district spends $3,000 for ‘implicit bias’ training

Keep an eye out in your school district for this type of training. If you find it please let us know. A school district in North Carolina spent more than $3,000 on two hours of training in "implicit bias" for its school board members last year, according to documents obtained by Parents Defending Education through a public records request and shared with The Daily Signal. The Wake County Public School System gave $3,038 for the training to the organization "WE ARE," which stands for Working to Extend Anti-Racist Education, according to a contract dated Nov. 14, 2023. Goals for the training were for participating board members to "recognize and challenge their own biases," "move … [Read more...]

How a DEI Rebrand Is Playing Out in K-12 Schools

DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) is damaging not only our society but our schools.  Educators apparently want it taught/addressed. They just need to "rebrand" it and change the name. Give this article a read. It appeared in Education Week earlier this year (2024). Under political fire, DEI is evolving into a more general focus on belonging for all. Should school district mission statements explicitly mention diversity, equity, and inclusion? If a district ensures that all students feel a sense of inclusion and belonging, does it matter how it brands that work? Do all districts need to examine how inequities play out within and outside of school buildings? These are some of … [Read more...]
