Do pronouns have a place in school?

We have heard about the use of pronouns for the last several years. Some people include their pronouns in their email footers. Today we want to explore pronouns and examine whether they have a place in K-12 education. Pronouns are often referred to as "gender" pronouns and appear to be attempt to be gender neutral or add specific examples of how a person wants to be referred to and addressed. This of course requires that the person choosing and using the pronouns understand the meaning of and agree on the interpretation of the designations. It appears that in the past 5-10 years there has been an uptick on use by certain segments of the population. It's fair to say that those supporting … [Read more...]

Teaching K-3 Children About Sexual Orientation, Transgender Issues

Today we bring you an article that contains the results of a poll of parents regarding teaching K-3 children about sexual orientation and gender issues. The article comes to us from The Daily Wire written by Ben Johnson. The majority of Americans support a ban on teaching young children about sexual orientation and transgender issues in public schools, a new poll has found. The latest survey shows broad support for a new Florida law, which became a culture war flashpoint pitting Republicans and family groups against major corporations and celebrities. Disney joined the public opposition to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signing the “Parental Rights in Education Bill,” which says a … [Read more...]

Kindergarten Students in Connecticut Learn about Being Transgender in Line with ‘Social Justice Standards’

As we start the new year (2022) with mid-term elections coming up it's time to get more assertive in our stance about education. Too many school districts are telling parents to stay out of education. The trend for the past decade + has been for schools to take over teaching moral's and values. This story was published in Nov 2021 but is a good place to start our new year. National Review By Brittany Bernstein Elementary school students in West Hartford, Conn. public schools are being forced to undergo “social emotional learning through an equity lens” as district officials have reportedly told parents they may not opt-out of the curriculum, which aims to teach students a set of … [Read more...]

How Activist Teachers Recruit Kids

From The Truth Fairy (Abigail Shrier) from Substack we get a view of teacher activism in schools. Leaked Documents and Audio from the California Teachers Association Conference Reveal Efforts to Subvert Parents on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Incensed parents now make news almost daily, objecting to radical material taught in their children’s public schools. But little insight has been provided into the mindset and tactics of activist teachers themselves. That may now be changing, thanks to leaked audio from a meeting of California’s largest teacher’s union. Last month, the California Teachers Association (CTA) held a conference advising teachers on best practices for … [Read more...]

Society for Evidence Based Gender Medicine

At the risk of stepping outside our normal K-12 education focus we bring you information about a group of medical personnel (from around the world) that are focused on the importance of "evidence" in dealing with gender based medical actions. The group we introduce today can be found at: Home | SEGM  Why are we covering this? Because "gender" has been introduced into the equation by the WA State Superintendent Chris Reykdal and the WA State Legislature. They are trying to strip parents of their rights. We want you to have information that may be useful. And, the actions associated with forced gender reassignment impact education of not just those children directly impacted but by other … [Read more...]

Battle Ground School District proposed Sex Ed Curriculum review

The Battle Ground School District, like all districts across Washington State, is starting the process of choosing curriculum to meet the State mandated Comprehensive Sex Ed signed into law by Gov. Inslee as passed by the State Legislature. (It's worth noting that this was a partyline vote. Democrats all voted yes). As such BGSD created a team of 20 people from about 100 applicants to review selected curriculum. The Directors of Curriculum gave an online presentation. You may want to view it before proceeding with the rest of this article so you understand what they shared: https://youtu.be/sjev3ZACGlA  It's worth a couple of minutes to delve into the composition of the public group that … [Read more...]

Woke Preschoolers: Indoctrinating Our Youngest Children

Intellectual Takeout Veronika Winkels  Whether something is education or indoctrination seems to be a matter of where you stand on its content. I have heard C.S. Lewis’ beloved classic The Chronicles of Narnia accused of indoctrinating children with Christianity. My understanding is that indoctrination teaches a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically. Now, I believe my preschool children, aged 3 and 5, are being indoctrinated at their childcare center by a text espousing a set of values vastly different from those Lewis held. It’s title is, We Are All Equal. I was mildly disconcerted when I noticed it in the reading corner. I sniffed a political message. So when I saw … [Read more...]
