Do children need parental approval or notice for medical services in Washington State? (Updated 11-5-2023)

The Washington State Legislature, under the control of Democrats for the past 40 years, has chosen, in their infinite wisdom, to allow a number of healthcare procedures that do NOT require parental notice nor permission. This article shares details from State websites. There are districts who have rolled out and/or are in the process of rolling out, dental and medical services on campus. You may want to be aware of this in case you have thoughts you want to share with your legislators and school district leadership. Let's start out with a snapshot of services and notice (or lack of) to parents: The chart on the left: Emergency services - No parental notice … [Read more...]

Congress Denies Privacy and Parental Rights Undermined!

We've expressed concerns about OSPI and your local district gathering data on your children that is sold (they claim anonymously) to private companies. We've told you about the demise of FERPA (the child privacy act). Now we learn that since we are all asleep and not paying attention and NOT telling our congressional representatives to stay the HECK out of our private lives they are moving ahead. HR 4174 passed the US House in mid November 2017. What does it say? Specifically, the bill: Requires federal agencies to create evidence-building plans for identifying and addressing policy questions relevant to the programs, policies, and regulations of the agency; Establishes Chief … [Read more...]

Protecting children in public schools: I-1552 Privacy for All!

In December 2015 the Washington State Human Rights Commission (http://www.hum.wa.gov/), a group of five (5) unelected bureaucrats appointed by Gov. Inslee, decided that “gender equality” required their interpretation and intervention. This commission decided that if a male or female “self identified” as one of 58+ “gender expressions” they could use the bathroom, locker room, showers or other facilities of whichever sex they chose. Literally they could walk in and if questioned say they “identified” as that gender. It’s worth noting that “activists” believe that sex and gender mean different things and that, in the end, gender is more important than biology. I understand the desire to make … [Read more...]

SPI Sues to End WEA’s Damage to Funding

From an article at Freedom Foundation - Author Jami Lund This is a follow-up article to one we wrote and published recently. As of today Randy Dorn has filed suit against 7 of Washington States largest school districts claiming he is protecting the children. Read Jami's article... While it is true that the multimillion teachers union advocates for tax increases and spending increases on education, their marketing works to conceal the other element of their agenda—swiping money intended for student services as pay raises and bonuses. July 19 Superintendent Randy Dorn announced his lawsuit against some school districts which have been complicit, lazy or bullied into letting … [Read more...]

Washington State To Teach Transgenderism To Kindergartners

From The Daily Caller By fall 2017 Washington state public schools will begin teaching gender expression to kindergarteners under newly-approved health education learning standards that designate sexual health a “core idea” of public K-12 education. While some aspects of sexual health aren’t taught K-12 (HIV prevention begins in fourth grade), one component of sexual health titled “Self-Identity” begins in kindergarten, where students will be expected to “Understand there are many ways to express gender.” Should Kindergarten Students be Taught Transgenderism? The state’s health education glossary defines gender as “A social construct based on emotional, behavioral, and … [Read more...]

Teachers union, others to sue state over new charter school law

From The News Tribune ..... Charter school opponents plan to sue the state over a new law that aims to keep the privately run, publicly funded schools open in Washington. The Washington Education Association announced its intention Thursday night to file a lawsuit over the state’s amended charter school law. Other groups that oppose charter schools will also be involved in the suit, the statewide teachers union said. Eight charter schools currently operate in Washington, three of which are in Tacoma. It isn’t the first time the teachers union and a coalition of other groups have challenged the state’s law allowing charter schools, which Washington voters approved in 2012. The … [Read more...]

Boys who think they are girls – girls who think they are boys – Woman who is a cat: Will the HRC require litterboxes for people?

When the Washington State Human Rights Commission decided that a person who "self identifies" as the opposite sex can have full use of the "facilities" (bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, dressing rooms, etc.) of the sex they identify with that nothing strange or unusual would happen (issues have already come up). In the "old" says we thought that the fringe were people who had some slightly different views of the world and while strange to the mainstream were none-the-less humorous and funny. How far are we "evolving"? Do we really need to accommodate every single persons "views and feelings"? Do we need to turn the world upside down so that every whim, fancy or preference should be … [Read more...]
