Oregon Decides Your Kids’ Gender Is None Of Your Business

In Oregon, parents will be thrilled to know that their sons can not only play girls’ volleyball and softball, but they can tell the school to treat them like a girl – and it can all be kept from you.

That’s right. It’s an exciting development in parenting and schooling! Keeping super-cool secrets from parents!

Because nothing is more appropriate for a young child’s development than letting them play some gender-bending game at will with the school keeping the fun little social experiment away from nosy parents.

The rules were announced Thursday is a 15-page “Guidance to School Districts.” It provides detailed guidelines outlining how districts should handle transgender students. Broadly, it states that teachers must adhere to the wishes of students when they “affirm their chosen gender identity,” The Daily Caller is reporting.

“A student who says she is a girl and wishes to be regarded that way throughout the school day should be respected and treated like any other girl,” it says. “So too with a student who says he is a boy.” Students should be called by whatever name they wish (regardless of their legal name), and they have the right to use bathrooms and locker rooms of either sex in accordance with their wishes.

“There is no need for the student to prove their new gender. The student’s declaration of their gender is acceptable,” the guide adds.

That means – by definition – that a boy who on Monday is a “boy” can walk into school on Tuesday and declare they are a “girl” and the school must treat them like a girl. Girl’s bathroom, girls’ sports. Girl’s whatever.

Even better, the guidelines state that parents should not be told that their child is switching genders once they hit the school.

“In [some] cases, transgender students may not want their parents to know about their transgender identity,” it says. “The paramount consideration in such situations should be the health and safety of the student, while also making sure that the student’s gender identity is affirmed in a manner that maintains privacy and confidentiality.”

These policies – keeping parents in the dark – are from the same group of folks who think children should be able to have abortions without parents’ knowledge too.

Imagine – they flip their respective lids if 17-year-old Jennifer smokes a cigarette but don’t think twice about calling Loretta a boy named Billy and letting Billy have an abortion – all without Mom or Dad knowing.

What is wrong with people?
