Reykdal speaks from both sides of his mouth?

two_mouthsOk….as the race of Washington State Superintendent of Schools between Chris Reykdal and Erin Jones comes down to the wire the kitchen is getting hotter and hotter. We received a blast email from Mr. Reykdal’s campaign (see below) claiming that “billionaires” are trying to buy the Superintendent’s Race and that the only way for him to win is if we contribute more money.

After you read his email message take a look at the PDC (campaign fund reporting) spend from what appears to be the WEA (Washington State Teachers Union) supporting Mr. Reykdal in the amount of $86,000. Recently he made another claim about big money interests trying to steal the election – which we investigated and report – to you – that was not true.  http://www.swweducation.org/?p=3266

Please take the time to review the materials for yourself. If you haven’t voted yet we hope this helps you in making a decision and voting.

Chris Reykdal

I will get right to the point.  The billionaires have loaded up on support for my opponent, and their mailer has been sent out.  With a $165,000 Independent Expenditure and over $30,000 in direct donations, they have more than doubled her media impact!  Quite literally, seven donors have given nearly as much to my opponent as all the rest of her donors combined!  We must do this $25 $50, and $100 at a time.  Please make a final donation here.

Let’s remember what this is all about: full and equitable funding, supporting ALL kids, and making sure every parent and every community has a voice in what is best for their local PUBLIC schools.  The billionaires are not interested in local control.

Even if you have already voted, the race isn’t over.  We produced a TV ad here, please share it.

Forward this email right now to your lists.  Talk to your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers.  Tell them how important this race is, and why you are supporting me and not the billionaires’ privatization agenda.  We are 10 days away from the election, and about 15% of voters have returned their ballots already.  In a race with so many undecided voters, we need you to talk to your networks!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend, go Cougs, Dawgs, Sounders, and Seahawks, and please vote and donate!  We need you to help close out this race.  It is VERY close!

Here’s a screenshot of the what appears to be a WEA media buy:

Question: Does it seem like he makes a claim about or negative comment about his opponent while in the background he is actually the one doing what he claims she has done?
