How a DEI Rebrand Is Playing Out in K-12 Schools

DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) is damaging not only our society but our schools.  Educators apparently want it taught/addressed. They just need to "rebrand" it and change the name. Give this article a read. It appeared in Education Week earlier this year (2024). Under political fire, DEI is evolving into a more general focus on belonging for all. Should school district mission statements explicitly mention diversity, equity, and inclusion? If a district ensures that all students feel a sense of inclusion and belonging, does it matter how it brands that work? Is It Education or Political Activism? Turning our children into “militant leftists.”

Clover Park School. City of Lakewood. That's right. North of us in Washington state. Give this a read. Written by David Anderson Or is it both? She concludes by writing, "These courses will become the new norm in California, and before … [Read more...]

Critical Race Theory, Coming to a School Near You

Today we bring you a guest writer from Parents Rights in Education. They are active regionally and State wide protecting the rights of parents and children. Give the article a read and then stop by their website and learn how you can help and support their efforts. Across the nation and in the state of Washington, in an effort to promote equity and inclusion, schools have begun to teach Critical Race Theory. Critical Race Theory or CRT asserts that systemic racism is part of American society and challenges the beliefs that allow it to flourish; if you are white, you are inherently racist, if you are a person of color, you are inherently oppressed. Therefore, white people must … [Read more...]
