The New Face of Woke Education

Sold to parents and teachers as harmless programming for “emotional intelligence,” Social Emotional Learning (SEL) became – with the use of cloud-based technology – a centralized apparatus for values transmission that threatens the autonomy of future generations. Through SEL, collectivist propaganda now pervades modern classrooms, shaping your child’s worldview, click by click. What started small has become a dangerous subversion of the educational system aimed at surveillance, indoctrination and, ultimately, compliance with a globalist Sold to parents and teachers as harmless programming for “emotional intelligence,” Social Emotional Learning (SEL) became – with the use of cloud-based … [Read more...]

How do you differentiate between equality and equity in K-12 education?

So we turned to ChatGPT and asked it to go into "expert" mode and answer the question:  How do you differentiate between equality and equity in K-12 education? After thinking for a bit it shared it's wisdom. Here, for your reading pleasure, is what it told us. Great question—and honestly, people mix these up all the time, so you’re not alone. In expert terms, the difference comes down to fairness vs. sameness. Equality Definition: Giving everyone the same resources, rules, or opportunities. Assumption: Everyone starts from the same place and needs the same support. Focus: Uniform treatment. Example:Every student gets the same textbook and the same amount of … [Read more...]

America’s Destructive Education System

From The American Thinker by Alexander Markovsky Dec 8, 2024 In 1983, the Reagan administration published a report titled “A Nation at Risk: The Imperative of Education Reform.” The report warned that the decay of American schools was threatening the country’s very survival. But the powerful amalgamation of teachers’ unions, state bureaucracies, and the Democrat establishment defeated the initiative. Committed to preserving the status quo, this special interest group became the guardian of American education, maintaining complete control of the education curriculum and using its position to subvert innovation in education. No surprise, this group enjoys the systematic support of the … [Read more...]

How $20 million becomes $90 million in 14 years at Ridgefield School District

This article was published at Clark County Today on April 1, 2024. No it's not April Fools...walk through the numbers for yourself. The Ridgefield School District budgeted a roughly $3 million loss for 2023-2024 and is projecting a roughly $1.3 million loss now. Ridgefield resident Heidi Pozzo doesn’t believe it is due to a lack of funding. Heidi Pozzo  for Clark County Today  By now you’ve probably seen the news from Clark County Today that school districts are struggling with budgets. Those struggles aren’t confined to larger school districts, virtually every school district in the area is working on budget shortfalls. Heidi Pozzo Will Ridgefield School District suffer … [Read more...]

What do levy “rates” per $1000 of assessed value mean and what (if any) relevance does it have regarding property taxes for school levy’s?

Every 3-4 years school districts come to the voters and taxpayers and ask for a “renewal” levy. They ask for more money and say this new levy isn’t really new but rather a “renewal” of the expiring levy. They give you an estimate of the amount you will pay per $1,000 of assessed property value. In many cases the “renewal levy” has a lower rate per $1,000 than the expiring levy. They emphasize the “renewal” and the “lower rate”, implying it is just a continuation of the old levy and your taxes will barely go up. What’s the truth? The only way to discuss this is by using a specific real-world example. The Washougal school district asked for approval of two (2) levies in February (that … [Read more...]

I’m a Former Teacher. Here’s How Your Children Are Getting Indoctrinated by Leftist Ideology.

This article ran ~2 years ago. Read it. Has anything changed? What and how? It was published at Heritage and written by Douglas Blair. Key Takeaways  It isn’t just a matter of actively teaching that America and the West are evil. Suppression of “wrongthink” is equally as important to the brainwashing process.  The young adults who today gleefully tear down statues of the Founding Fathers were incubated in our very own schools.  Conservatives must demand an end to the indoctrination of our youth or face a new American public taught since childhood that the country shouldn’t exist. Your children are being indoctrinated. The education system designed to … [Read more...]

Hold onto your hats...and checkbooks and get ready to raid your savings account! The Washington State taxman cometh.... One revision to this article. The Clark County Assessors Office has revised their estimate of the new State School Property Tax Rate. They had told us it would likely be $2.84/$1000. The latest information is that it will be around $2.90/$1000. So, when you review the original report below the actual taxes will likely be HIGHER than noted.  The story we are about to tell is complicated and has a few twists so it's going to be hard to make it simple...but we're going to give it a try.
