The Future of Education – Focusing Students with devices

revibeWhat we are about to tell you is partially true. One or more of the devices we share with you today actually exists.

These devices are intended to be used on students to help them “focus” on their classwork and not daydream or be distracted. Yes…that’s right…the future of education is to take steps to “remind” students when they are judged not to be paying attention and need to be “stimulated” to return to the here-and-now.

First up is ReVibe

Gentle vibrations provide reminders to the student to get back on task. RE-vibe uses gentle vibrations to bring wandering minds back on task, fostering independence & confidence in the classroom. Designed to help students ages 6+ who struggle with on-task behavior. Gentle, strategically timed vibrations remind students to ask themselves, “Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing?” Used in over 2,000 schools! Just $99.95

Now who wouldn’t want the wandering, daydreaming mind brought back on-task and doing homework or reading or taking a test. We all know how destructive and damaging it is when a mind isn’t laser focused don’t we?

For the fashion conscious we offer the StimRing. Using microcircuitry with a battery than can be recharged when the ring is placed in a cradle it can be set to vibrate or glow more intensely as the student gets less focused. This is particularly useful for those who are more “sight” stimulated rather than physically responsive. It currently comes in 5 different colors and the glow is related to the “stones” used. The bands are a food grade woven polymer that is hypoallergenic and is guaranteed not to irritate sensitive skin or your money back. Because it’s more of a jewelry item the anticipated cost when fully released will be $129.95 but a five (5) year warranty. If you would like to participate in one of the current tests to verify functionality please contact us and ask for more information. [Note: Versions more suitable to males are under design]

PendEar

Staying with the jewelry approach to stimulating students we offer this combination Pendant and Earring set. The pendant is available in several unique looks and houses the battery along with sensors that monitor key factors. When the students “drifts” and needs to be reminded the pendant sends a blue-tooth signal to the earrings. The reminder is auditory and only the student can hear it. The voice is soothing and gentle and helps them refocus on their tasks. The anticipated pricing is $199.95.

Finally we share a much-anticipated product code-named: Avatar

This one of a kind product is worn on the head (much as a headband) with small electrodes that gently touch the scalp. It’s fashionable and will be available in different satin polished finishes and colors. The unit can be set to automatically “stimulate” the neural centers directly based on sensor data within the band. Or, it can be keyed to respond to stimulus from the teachers tablet. The unit can be set to transmit data to the teacher (or their designee) for continual monitoring to help assure the student stays focused. Pricing has not been finalized but testing is underway. If you have a child that is having difficulties staying focused on their work, is too talkative, is prone to daydreaming or other behaviors that are negatively affecting their ability to learn look no further. Contact us today to reserve a place in our trials.

Summary

Think of the ways technology can help focus students attention. Think of the improvements that we will see in the quality of future workers. No more chatting or playing or daydreaming. Just connect any of these devices with computers, allow teachers and schools to continually monitor and “assist” students in staying on task and the test scores will improve so much the impact on the future of our society will be pronounced.
