The Most Religious Kids Do Best In School or The Abider-Avoider Achievement Gap: The Association Between GPA and Religiosity in Public Schools

Can personal beliefs and religious participation really affect learning? According to a study published in SOC ArXiv the answer is …YES. If you want to read the article in its entirety click this link:   https://osf.io/preprints/socarxiv/8ye3s/

What does it say?

  1. Children who regularly practice religion…perform better in school
  2. The most religious children had the highest GPA
  3. Children who avoided religion had the lowest GPA’s
  4. Faith enhances positive behaviors
  5. Children involved in faith activities were more conscientious and cooperative
  6. Rather than high income vs. low income…the attributres of religious participation may play a more important role

Where does much of the quality of education come from? Home and in church.
