On the Proposed Draft “VPS Equity Policy” The Language of the Draft Policy is straight from Neo Marxism. Racially Discriminating and educationally bereft of the legal principals of equality embraced by the Declaration of Independence, legally defined in the 14th and 15th Amendments to the US Constitution, and made actionable in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
The Authors of this “Policy” replaced the legal terminology of equality with the Marxist defined term equity.
Equity has been defined and promoted by Critical Race Theorists as the rational for suspending private property rights, seizing land and wealth and redistributing them along racial or other conveniently defined lines of an apparent historical abuse of power. The insidious use of this language, is evident throughout the document.
But the actionable measures promoted in line with neo Marxists defined “Equity” are injected in the on page two goals seven through 11, where the direction of the VSP will be not along individual educational needs, but focused on providing equitable outcomes for all students. Based on the language in the draft goal #5 the VSD will prioritize use of educational resources to ensure equitable outcomes.
#8, commits VSD to use an equity lens focus in order to develop all future VSP policy. IN OTHER WORDS, THIS EQUITY POLICY SEEKS TO INSTITUTIONALIZE RACISM. By #9 monitoring district operations for equitable access and inclusion, # 10 set ambitious goals for the increasing, retaining and maintaining employment based in race gender and other preferences related to perceived discrimination whether real or imagined.
And finally enforcing the bureaucratic rule by # 11, Progress monitoring on all equity initiatives through quarterly reporting requirements and biannual achievement and discipline data review. OR MICROMANAGING THE CLASSROOM AND SUPPORTING STRUCTURES TO ENSURE NO ONE CAN EXCEL.
The draft policy directs the Superintendent to develop annual action plans which will result in measurable progress towards achieving the above goals. The superintendent and/or designee will annually report to the school board regarding the implementation of this policy.
In conclusion, Considering the amount of squishy gray area that the Superintendent will need to monitor collate and report in a coherent manner, and considering the abysmal failure of the schools to monitor, collate and report on student’s improvement year to year, under President Bush’s education law of 2001, which had plenty of useable data already in place, this last direction appears to be aimed at spending education dollars on once again not educating our sons and daughters, but providing a false narrative to impose Marxism on the United States. Nonsense is too kind a word to describe this Equity policy.
